    Laurie Clauss
    Owner
    Dr. Clauss has been a lover of cats since her early childhood. A graduate of Colorado State University's Veterinary School in 1994, she practiced in Seattle for a few years before moving back to our beautiful state. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, she opened CatTails Feline Health Center in 2003.

  • Guy Dufort
    Practice Manager

    Guy has been the Practice Manager for CatTails since 2005.  'I continue to feel honored and privileged to be a part of the finest cat hospital in the region.' Previously he was employed as the AV manager for the Marriott Luxury and Wyndham Grand Hotels. Throughout his entire adult life Guy has also been and continues to be a professional musician, performing with local and national acts as well as recording for original artists, radio and television ads and current member of the Broadmoor Tavern Orchestra.

    Lead Certified Veterinary Technician
    Ali graduated in 2006 from Bel-Rea with an Associates of Applied Science in Animal Technology. While getting her education, she volunteered with Animal Emergency Care Center, and worked for 2 years in small animal practice. She is originally from Florida, but moved to Colorado when she was 2. She has a 13 year old son named Alex, and has three cats Tinga, Molly and Sebastian, along with 2 turtles, Pudge and Smudge.

    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Christy joined the Cattails team in February of 2017. She holds a BA in Classical Languages. She has worked for 18 years in the feline veterinary field, and graduated from Bel-Rea with an Associates of Applied Sciences in Animal Technology in 2013. She has volunteered with big cat facilities and keeps track of her own herd of cats at home. Originally from Georgia, she moved from to Colorado in 2003. Her interests outside of work include good movies, long books, DIY projects, and naps. Vacation time often means traveling, both domestic and international, where she can practice a bit of amateur photography (28 states, 15 countries, and counting…).

  • Phyllis Meyer, CVT
    Certified Veterinary Technician


    A PASSION TO COMMUNICATE WITH CATS

    After sending two children off to college, Phyllis started a new career in veterinary medicine, adding her A.A.S. in 2011 to degrees in chemistry and romance languages.  She has been a Certified Veterinary Technician in Colorado since July 2011 and has worked at CatTails since December 2013.  

    Phyllis's passion is to communicate with cats.  After two years of studying feline behavior, she was awarded the Advanced Certificate in Feline Behavior with Distinction in 2020 from the International Society of Feline Medicine. She is also the author of The Feline Purrspective, a blog about cat care and cat behavior. When not at CatTails, Phyllis enjoys hiking, biking, and walking her cats.

    Client Service Representative
    Kate has been with CatTails since 2005, and loves everything 'kitty.' She was born in England and came to the states with her parents when they immigrated. She enjoys traveling, and has many fun stories about her adventures! She also likes reading, gardening, long walks, foreign movies, and spending time at home with her own kitties and family.
